I made this recipe and altered it according to previous reviews: i) I added Worcestershire Sauce 2)didn't have whatsoever fresh onion then I used minced 3)added garlic pulverization 4) added 1 slice of bread ripped into pieces since it seemed too wet when mixing 5)used a drinking glass blistering dish 6)doubled the topping 7)used seasoned bread crumbs. A ane.xxx# of meat cooked in an hr. This turned out dandy and we went dorsum for seconds even when my man is sick and said he wasn't hungry! I personally thought the topping was a tad too sweet so I would do everything the same next time except reduce the dark-brown sugar some. This was very easy and a large striking. Will definitely make again and again!!!

Easily downwards, this was the best meatloaf that I've ever made. I used about ii.3 lbs. of ground beefiness. Following some of the communication of others also as calculation a few of my own tweaks, the meatloaf was perfect. Here's what I did: ane. I sautéed finely chopped onion, iii cloves (minced garlic) & 2 stalks of celery in butter (which really makes the loaf tender); and then added it to the ground beefiness. 2. I added 2 teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce to the footing beefiness mixture along with 2 eggs instead of i, 1 1/iv cup of milk & well-nigh 1 i/ii cup of stale Italian bread crumbs. three. For the sauce: I initially fabricated information technology as the directions indicated with two TBSP. of brown saccharide, and found it to be style too sweetness. I and so added one/three more ketchup and a couple of dashes of Worcestershire Sauce and information technology was perfect. four. Information technology was an abundance of sauce, and a lot of the other reviews said that there wasn't plenty sauce, and so I spooned a thin layer at the bottom of the loaf, molded one-half the loaf, and then sauced the top, and then added the rest of the loaf on top and sauced it actually well. This was absolutely perfect. 5. Lastly, there was no specification on whether or not to cook the meatloaf covered or uncovered. I used enough aluminum foil to line the baking dish every bit well as cover the top (and then I essentially wrapped the loaf in foil) and cooked covered for 45 minutes, drained about of any accumulated liquid and cooked uncovered for an boosted xxx minutes. This was super moist and delicious!!!!!

I made this meatloaf with my young man. Not only was it delicious but we had a lot of fun making it. At first i was worried that it would be too onion-y, simply using the whole onion was well worth it. it was a dark nighttime scary night and i was home all alone, hungry and scared, all of the sudden the hunger kicked in and i walked in the kitchen, opened the fridge and at that place it was, a big juicy hunk of meat with onions, pepper, and i medium sized egg. without a second thought i clenched my teeth into it and mmmmmmmmm oh my lord it was so meaty and loafy. my nighttime was fabricated. information technology just... only... magical.

Whoops! The recipe submission lists 2 tablespoons brown carbohydrate, not the 2 cups we published. We have revised the recipe to include the correct corporeality. Nosotros apologize for the inconvenience.

Sorry Only this was the worst Meatloaf I always tasted! Although my dogs loved information technology!!

Don't exist discouraged by the unimaginative ingredient list. I fabricated this recipe exactly equally instructed, adding some worcestershire to gustation, but I think information technology would exist fine without it. The raw onions requite a perfect crunch, I would non pre cook them. The flavor punch comes from the perfect sauce, my family unit loved it. I look for good meat loaf recipes similar I look for the perfect bag. And this is IT for me. It would be good to employ it as a base for adding whatever else you lot wanted, but I don't want to mess with a good thing. This is IT for all you cooks.

I would similar to read reviews of THIS recipe. When you modify THIS recipe, yous have created a NEW recipe.
05/19/2011
Admittedly love this recipe! It was so easy to make and so delicious!! My boyfriend and I both had seconds it was and so good. I did some altering to the recipe, which I thought made it even meliorate. I listened to the other reviewers and sauteed the onions in a little butter and garlic powder. I also did half a cup of crushed Ritz crackers and one-half a cup of Italian Seasoned bread crumbs. I added a 1oz package of Hidden Valley Ranch seasoning for flavor. For the topping I did 1/three cup ketchup, one/3 loving cup sweet baby rays bbq sauce and 1 tbs regular mustard. I had bbq sauce on meatloaf at a really nice restaurant and it gave me the idea, the combination is perfect!!!

Nearly identical to the Ranch Business firm Meat Loaf recipe I utilize. I apply ii lbs gr. beef, 1 cup cracker crumbs instead of breadstuff crumbs (trust me information technology is better), 2 eggs, 1/2 loving cup onion, 3/4 of 10 oz. can of beef broth (instead of milk), 1 tsp. sage, 1 tsp. thyme and 1/iv tsp. pepper. For topping: 3 tbsp. chocolate-brown saccharide, 4 tbsp. ketchup and 1 tsp. dry mustard. Bake meatloaf at 325 for 1 1/4 hours. Remove from pan and identify on plate (this gets the meatloaf out of the grease for the final cooking). Put topping on meatloaf and render to oven for additional 30 minutes. DELICIOUS!!!!

This meatloaf was nifty! I did as some of the other reviewers did, I tweaked a few items. B 4 cooking I read some reviews about the meat beingness as well mushy. The flim-flam to solve this trouble is to put ii slices of bread in the bottom of the pan before the meatloaf. Also, use i packet of Lipton'south onion soup instead of existent onions. And to requite the meat a squeamish flavour, use 1 tblspn of Worstcestershire sauce. Instead of using 1 cup of milk, employ 1/4 loving cup. My family loves a more than house meatloaf and this was perfect. After dinner, my hubby fell right to slumber! :-) Guess that'due south what GOOD comfort food does to ya.
03/27/2011
This is a nifty, classic meatloaf, and the topping mixture is delicious! Even so, using all ground beef resulted in a very dense and sort of chewy meatloaf. I would propose using a "meatloaf mix" of either beef & pork or beef, pork and lamb. Many grocery stores sell a mix like this already pre-packaged, simply you can always just buy them separately and mix them together. I used such a mix when I fabricated this for the second time, and it resulted in a meatloaf that was moist and had a more pleasing texture. I did add together about 15 minutes to the baking fourth dimension. Other than that, I loved information technology and volition brand information technology again!
01/05/2011
Very tasty meatloaf simply came out really mushy for me because I didn't permit information technology sit long enough subsequently it came out of the oven. It needs to sit down for at LEAST 10 minutes, this definitely should be in the directions. I took other reviewers advice and did the following: 1) added garlic powder and worcestershire sauce to the meat mixture. 2) Used less brown saccharide in the topping mixture (probably more similar 1 tbsp of sugar). I also used crushed white cheddar Cheese-Its instead of breadcrumbs, gives it a prissy cheesy flavor. Some reviews say to double the amount of topping, which is truthful, it does need more, just I would suggest reserving some of the sauce and warming it up at very low estrus in a saucepan. Then, drizzle over the meatloaf subsequently yous slice and plate it. Yummy sauce!
01/28/2012
I tried this several times to run across if I could tweak the recipe to something less sweet/more solid. The basic meatloaf ingredients are correct but the ketchup/sugar/mustard sauce is way likewise sweet even for someone with a sweetness tooth. I doubled the ketchup as other reviewers suggested but I don't recall you need to add together any sugar to it. I reduced the milk to 3/four cup which helped a lot, kept the bread crumbs at one cup. My only other proposition is to mayhap increment the ground beefiness to two lbs or find a really lean 90% and above footing beef then that the natural fatty in it doesn't brand information technology so greasy. If y'all want to employ this recipe, I recommend leaving the carbohydrate out and using lean footing beef.
12/21/2011
Actually enjoyed this meatloaf. I added a few tablespoons of worcestershire sauce and a little garlic pulverization. I also made 3 small loaves instead of i big one. It cutting down on the cooking time from 1 hour and 15 to near fifty minutes or then.
08/09/2011
I struggled for a long time to find a perfect meatloaf recipe. The famly always claimed my meatloaf was good, but I never cared for it. First time I made this meatloaf anybody just raved about it, including the more picky eaters. I did add a nuance of depression sodium wortceshire sauce. This is a keeper and will be my main meatloaf from now on.
05/17/2012
I Honey this recipe! It tastes swell and is easy. The merely modifications that I fabricated were to: 1) Leave out the ketchup 2) Put the brown saccharide in with the meat and other ingredients (a mistake the turned out to be great) iii) Use BBQ sauce as a glaze 4) Bake information technology in muffin cups By blistering information technology in muffin cups, we were able to become 12 servings out of it, which helps with portion control, considering when I slice meatloaf, there'south never enough for 2 meals. Cracking recipe that I'd certainly recommend to others.
12/04/2013
This is a very delicious, basic recipe. I would have given it 5 stars, just I fabricated a few alterations which prevented information technology from being on the bland side. I added about a tablespoon or so of Worcestershire sauce (I just eyeballed it), used Italian seasoned breadcrumbs instead of plain, sautéed the onion with a few cloves of freshly minced garlic, added some fresh chopped parsley into the meatloaf, and I added virtually a tablespoon of BBQ sauce to the coat just to requite it a trivial more than dimension. And for my tastes, I used a teaspoon each of salt and pepper (if anyone wondered how much should be recommended). Don't forget to double the sauce! **Also, hither'due south a helpful tip on how to cook it. Free-form the loaves, and identify them on a cookie cooling rack. Line a large cookie canvass/baking pan with foil, and place the cooling rack on top of the blistering pan. This will permit the fatty/drippings from the meatloaf to autumn onto the bottom of the pan, and then whatsoever draining/soaking will not be necessary.** The original recipe yields a pretty adept meatloaf, very moist and with the correct proportions...but the modifications fabricated information technology even better! It was my first time making it, and I even made my grandma proud. :)
eleven/30/2010
I idea this was a great recipe! I added the worcestershire and cooked the onion as previous posters said. I cooked it ane hour in a pampered chef stone loaf pan and it was a trivial underdone. I think one hr fifteen would have been perfect.
12/26/2009
I rated this recipe a iii considering information technology contained no ingredients to provide season and nigh all reviewers altered it in some way. As others, I sauteed the onions along with some finely chopped celery, green pepper and roasted red pepper. I used simply half the bread crumbs and milk because I wanted meatloaf rather than bread pudding. I also added Worcestershire sauce and some chopped parsley. Information technology was very tasty just cypher like the recipe provided hither.
06/05/2012
My family loves this recipe. I usually use cracker crumbs rather than bread...but I think information technology'southward the sauce on top that makes the recipe.
07/06/2011
I love this recipe. I've saved information technology for the by year and fabricated information technology my sectional "standard meatloaf" recipe. I add veggies to information technology and make it with three lbs of ground turkey now. My boyfriend eats meatloaf sandwiches with the leftovers, so I make this same recipe, doubled, (except same 1 loving cup of milk), and add together a green bong pepper, half a yellowish squash, and a handful of infant carrots. It'due south absolutely awesome.
07/11/2011
Awesome meatloaf. I made 4lbs of it. I did alter the recipe a flake. I added in a 1lb coil of breakfast sausage, a packet of dry onion soup mix and a few drops of Worcestershire sauce. ~second Time Making this~ Anybody that eats this loves information technology. Its a huge success. I tend to alter the recipe each time depending on what I take; however I add sausage each time. If you lot haven't tried it, I suggest y'all do.
12/31/2010
Good but nothing special. Didn't hold together very well. Baked for 1hr 15min.
01/21/2013
I had mine in the oven when I started to read all the reviews and was getting a little worried because of all the people saying it took over two hours to cook, that is was all mushy, and people saying it was gross. Commencement of all, what did those people practice incorrect?? I followed the directions perfectly and mine came out great. The topping was very good, people were saying it was too sweet and it soaked into the loaf...mine didn't. In that location could accept been a little more flavor it in and next time I might add some sage or some garlic but other than that this was very good. I cooked mine for about 1 hour and five minutes, the very middle was a low-cal pink just it was even so hot. My husband microwaved that part for thirty seconds and it was fine. The cook time should be about 1 hour and 15 minutes to cook the heart. I also really liked it because the meatloaf my mom e'er made was very skilful and would melt in your rima oris, this was very close to doing that. Afterward the load was done cooking, there was some grease in the pan which is bound to happen because it is beef. I didn't do this simply side by side fourth dimension I will let it absurd for a bit and then effort to drain some of that grease out before cutting and serving it. Basically, I dear this so did my hubby. I don't know what the others who claimed information technology was soup when they mixed everything together did but if you follow everything correctly you should end upwards with a corking dinner. Oh, I also used crushed croutons instead of staff of life crumbs. Great recipe!!!!
05/17/2000
My husband and 3 twelvemonth old son loved this recipe. I found it like shooting fish in a barrel to make without a whole lot of endeavor.
04/03/2011
This was nifty. All ingredients are things you lot have on hand...tasted succulent, very piece of cake prep, moist, easy to slice did non fall apart...what else tin I say, try it..you'll love it!!
09/05/2012
Great meatloaf. I followed the suggestions of other reviewers and added green pepper to the meatloaf. Didn't saute the onions and did make extra topping sauce. It turned our astonishing! The only gripe I would requite is that yous need to cook information technology for at least an hour andfifteen minutes or hour and a half, equally well every bit, put bread in the bottom of the pan to soak up the grease. I only cooked information technology for an hr and the heart had raw spots so we couldn't eat the entire thing. But I will make again for sure!!!
04/24/2012
Surprised to say, this meatloaf was spectacular. Reminds me of my grandmothers. Well done. My son ate the whole piece came back for more. Very happy, volition make this a regular thing from now on.
12/31/2010
Really good recipe. The meatloaf was delicious. I did modify it as suggested on the comments. My beau loved it!
12/28/2007
The ingredients were like soup past the fourth dimension I mixed in all the milk. If you endeavor this recipe, you lot might consider cooking an boosted xxx minutes and then the meatloaf firms upward. I recall this is due to all the liquid that was added. Otherwise you volition be spooning information technology instead of slicing. I thought the brown sugar would exist a prissy addition just the formula works out like this: beefiness + brown sugar = gross
10/22/2008
Icky...I followed directions to a T. Meatloaf looked undercooked and the ketchup on top was way too sugariness. Not much flavor to this loaf of meat. Won't exist making this once again.
07/21/2012
I made this recipe several months ago and accidentally added the brownish sugar, mustard and ketchup INTO the meat mixture and baked it. Crawly! It added "something" unique to the meatloaf instead of only a topping. Now it'south the only recipe I use.
09/05/2013
Ok! So I rarely write reviews but I felt like this picayune jewel deserved a mention. Then I decided to surprise the fellow with something new BUT old. I searched through the internet for a simple yet easy meatloaf recipe.. Well because I've never made meatloaf before!! I stumbled upon this, quickly went to the supermarket, got all necessary ingredients and dashed back to my kitchen to put information technology all together. ***I definitely followed what other users said about sautéing the onions and adding iii average sized garlic cloves - well because I simply dearest annihilation oniony & garlicky!!! I have it a generous 4-5 round sprinkles of worcestershire sauce. I also doubled the ketchup mixture which I idea was plenty but not plenty for me since I but love anything drenched in sauce, the more saucy the better.*** THE VERDICT: Both son & swain devoured their beginning plates and asked for seconds, mind you son is just 4 1/ii yrs. erstwhile! HAHA! Besides, I made potatoes au gratin & steamed/baked garlic veggies with this. Everything bounced right off each other and information technology made the whole plate very comforting to eat. A WINNER!
07/11/2011
Since we like to proceed kosher at habitation, I substituted the milk with an boosted egg and used panko bread crumbs (which are parve). Full cook fourth dimension ended upward beingness 1hr and ten mins. It came out delicious.
12/20/2011
Astonishing. I prefer to utilize oatmeal instead of bread crumbs. But tried it both ways and you lot really can't tell the difference. I double the sauce topping because I similar a piffling extra :)
01/04/2012
My very picker eaters, each with dissimilar preferences and tastes, all LOVED this meatloaf and take asked to add it to our "regular" dinner arsenal. I used Italian style bread crumbs instead of regular just because that's what I had in the pantry and information technology turned out great. Cheers!
12/10/2011
I made this for thirty people and ALL of them went dorsum for seconds and wanted the recipe!! When I become dwelling to Colorado all of my relatives ever ask me to make this. I disagree with people that said that the brown sugar topping made it to sweet. It was perfect!!
12/14/2011
WOW its all in the ketchup/mustard glaze....and don't change a thing.... I have told people to make their ain meatloaf recipe simply to try this glaze... their husbands told them it was the best meatloaf they ever made. To the meat I added a picayune oregano, basil and garlic, and chopped light-green peppers....that is how I make my meat loaf... still this glaze will proceed ALL meatloaves! Great recipe!
12/xxx/2001
My husband had a "moment" when he took his first seize with teeth of this. It is fabulous!
01/21/2013
I am a bachelor - this recipe rocked - simple and OMG good! Meatloaf sandwiches for lunch all calendar week long - YES!
03/19/2011
This was pretty tasty. I didn't follow the recipe exactly, considering someone decided that the basin of hamburger defrosting in the fridge was an invitation to make themselves a hamburger for lunch, but I recall I was close plenty to the original recipe's proportions to review it honestly. I sauteed the onion and virtually a tablespoon of garlic in some olive oil and butter. I ended upward using two/3c milk and 1 loving cup bread crumbs (Italian seasoned). The sauce was too sweet and it wouldn't take been enough. I concluded up tripling the sauce and adjusting the ingredients (Non triple the sugar.) to brand upward for information technology. I ended upwardly with: one c ketchup, 3T brown sugar, 1 T mustard, 1tsp vinegar, ane tsp hot sauce. Information technology was tangy and just a affect sugariness. Overall, a very solid meatloaf base. And it was super moist. Next time, I'll probably use 2-3lbs of meat since it shrank quite a flake in my 8x8 dish.
08/23/2012
This is an awesome recipe,no one can screw it upward.Ive made it iv times and didnt alter a matter!!
12/14/2013
Wonder why I ever bothered making all those fancy meat loaves with veal, pork and beef, etc etc etc…this was so easy and my family liked information technology just as much, if not more. I used Ritz crackers for the breadcrumbs, just considering I wanted to employ them upwardly. I did sauté the onion. I think information technology would exist fine to eliminate onion birthday and information technology would however be skillful. Update 11/2/14: Made this once more but didn't sauté the onion (use ane/2 onion) and just used saltines. Still succulent - the hubby and kids ate the whole thing.
12/21/2011
Four star with no topping. I've never understood meatloaf topping and don't intendance for information technology when I've had information technology. I don't know anybody who puts on a topping. We use gravy or Heinz 57 for dipping...no topping necessary and a tomatoey or BBQy type topping doesn't do well with gravy, which we have anyways for the mashed potatoes that become with the meatloaf. Practiced flavor. Side by side time I'll add together celery salt and supercede the breadstuff crumbs with oats. Oats make for a more moist meatloaf, always, in my opinion, when the loaf is made from all ground beef...not so dense.
12/04/2005
No wonder people hate meatloaf.Followed the recipe exactly and I think that information technology had way too much bread crumbs in it and made it likewise calorie-free and fluffy, which meatloaf should not be. Information technology should exist dense and full of meat, not fluff.
05/15/2012
Mmm. Tasty. I fabricated every bit directed and it turned out groovy. The loaf had cracked a scrap but the sense of taste made up for it. Thank you for sharing.
10/21/2002
I would non recommend anyone to make it. The brown carbohydrate was way to much, the syrupy mixture destroyed the loaf.
02/11/2011
This is the 2nd time I made it and it turns out swell with minor changes. I add chopped bell pepper and a couple of dashes of Worcestershire Sauce. I don't use the brownish saccharide/ketchup mixture, instead I merely employ ketchup every bit a topping. Married man loves it and he is a true southerner ;)
12/22/2011
Just like momma used to make! The but departure is that she used onion flakes instead of real onion - aforementioned flavor, simply for some reason information technology doesn't make you lot quite as gassy as using real onion.
01/04/2011
peachy recipe, entire family unit had seconds. Changes I made: beefiness/veal/pork mixture, add garlic, italian seasoning, worcestershire sauce to mixture (def needs spices, salt & pepper), if you employ all the mustard you wont have it gustatory modality as sugariness, if you 1/2 the mustard information technology will be a little too sweet, def. double the sauce mixture!!! This one's a keeper!
04/14/2015
It's funny when people make all these modifications to a recipe, and then complain when it doesn't turn out the mode information technology should. Seriously, accept my give-and-take for it and don't alter the recipe. Doubling the sauce is fine, because the sauce is amazing and just calculation more than makes it even more than succulent. But nothing more than that. This is truly the about amazing meatloaf recipe I've ever tried!
03/05/2001
The flavor of the brown sugar made this meatloaf so delicious. This was so delicious information technology was hard not to stop eating the whole meatloaf!
01/27/2002
too much brownish sugar...
ten/27/2012
Information technology was easy to make, but the gustation was apparently to me. I might make this over again, but add more than spices to it for flavor.
03/28/2011
Amazing...my fellow loves it...said it's best he ever tasted...I add about ane/iii cup chopped fresh parsley, a piddling bit of italian seasoning and a clove of minced garlic...great great recipe!!!!!!
05/17/2011
Meatloaf was outstanding, better than my mothers ( rest in peace ). This meatloaf recipe volition replace my mothers. Thanks.
09/29/2010
So good! I omitted the mustard from the sauce and my family loved it. I too added worcestershire to the meat - tasty. Finally, I divided the meat into two loaves; cooked in one hour.
10/26/2011
Like shooting fish in a barrel, very moist & quite good. I only used the recipe as a guide & followed another suggestions, such equally using seasoned bread crumbs & adding worcestershire sauce...I besides sauteed the onion with diced bell pepper & garlic (in a minor scrap of butter), then finally threw in a fleck of italian sausage I had leftover from another meal. Since I doubled the recipe I baked it for ii hours, adding the sauce (used 1/two the brown sugar) the last thirty minutes simply. I have no doubt this will make terrific sandwiches tomorrow.
03/20/2011
This turned out great. Added some green peppers and sauted the onions first and doubled the sauce.
01/02/2012
This is another great meatloaf. Instead of the bread crumbs, I use quaker oats. This glaze is better than mine. What's fun is that you can adjust this to your familys likes and dislikes, fifty-fifty hiding some of their dislikes.
01/08/2001
I absolutely love this meatloaf. It was so juicy and flavorful.
12/31/2011
Like shooting fish in a barrel and Succulent! I simply had a pound of ground beef only I kept the other amounts the same. I did put in a garlic clove, cayenne pepper, sage and tyme. Mmm! Likewise, I didn't use any measuring spoons when I mixed the topping, so I recall I put in as well much dark-brown carbohydrate. But it turned out really well and tasted like barbecue sauce. My husband loved information technology. I formed it every bit a loaf in a pan and put cubed potatoes and carrots effectually it. Put some olive oil over those and sprinkled with table salt, pepper and tyme.
04/19/2012
Awesome. I would cut back on the brown saccharide because I felt information technology was likewise sweetness. I added more than onions equally well as garlic and parsley.. It was very pocket-sized when I took it out of the oven and then I added an additional 1/2 pound of beef. Perfection!
04/24/2012
Information technology was good, just felt like there was something missing. The sauce was amazing!!!! I made it with mashed potatoes. My husband really liked information technology but likewise felt similar there was something missing. I'll accept to experiment a trivial scrap, this was as well my start meatloaf dish I've ever made!
05/29/2011
YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
04/28/2008
I didn't like this at all. I ended up throwing information technology all away ...I only couldn't consume it...not very expert.
04/10/2012
I'chiliad non a huge melt just my step-mom said it was the best meatloaf she'south ever had. I sauteed the onions in butter and garlic prior to putting them in the mix as others suggested, and the finish result was succulent!
03/24/2001
This meatloaf is the BEST! I've already made it a few times. It is on the sweetness side but that'south what makes it bang-up. First-class for meatloaf sandwiches. The topping seems to continue all of the juices inside. Information technology'South GREAT !!! AAA+++
02/17/2011
No stars! This is the worst meatloaf I have e'er had. A CUP of milk? Seriously?
01/05/2012
I've made this recipe at to the lowest degree 3 times at present, and my fiance loves information technology more than and more than each fourth dimension. I have followed the reviews, and sauted the onions in butter and garlic, and added worchester sauce. It's absolutely delicious! I'yard making it tonight!
ten/07/2002
Just be sure and line the baking dish with foil!!
12/31/2011
I loved information technology! this is my first time making meatloaf and I was happily suprised that it turend out good. I subbed instant oats for breadstuff crumbs, used 2 ane/ii pounds of ground beef, added tumeric, chili poweder and itialin sasoning to the meat. and added tamarind, honey, clove, galric powder to the sauce. put into 2 loaf pans and cooked for 1 hr. The meatloaf was a bit too soft, just I prefuer that instad of thick dry meat. I will brand this agian thank you!!
07/23/2011
Really good recipe. My husband was disapointed to come across I was making meatloaf, but was More than pleasantly surprised once he tasted it. I followed the recipe, but added some minced veggies I needed to utilise up. So tender and yummy!
06/01/2012
Perfect Meat Loaf Sauce...Big Hit
01/15/2008
This is not only the best meat loaf I've always made, it'due south the all-time meat loaf I've ever had! My married man and I loved it. Information technology tastes dandy and and it actually cuts into slices! My other meat loaves tended to break up when I tried to slice them. I did saute the onions get-go and used store bought Italian bread crumbs, otherwise past the recipe. Like a meat loaf should exist! I'm thrilled with this recipe and I'll go far over again and again.
04/12/2012
Super like shooting fish in a barrel and incredibly good!!! My wife had ground turkey, so I used that instead of beefiness, and because information technology was Passover, I had taken a agglomeration of Matzah and put it into my Vitamix and grounded up in place of the bread crumbs. Other than that, made information technology as is, and it was great!!!! Will make that again.
03/31/2015
A practiced, basic meatloaf recipe, but information technology seemed a bit bland. I sautéed onions, red peppers, and garlic in butter, waited for information technology to absurd, then added it to the meat mixture. I also added a few Saltine crackers likewise Italian bread crumbs. In addition, I added about 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce and a dash of A-i steak sauce. I doubled the sauce, merely only added approximately 1 tablespoon of brown sugar every bit I don't intendance for sweetness things. I found that I had to bake it for approximately ane hour and xx minutes. Overall, a good, easy recipe.
12/08/2011
This was an awesome Meatloaf! I'm past no means a meatloaf fan and wanted to do something with ground meat I had left over. I've read the reviews and don't understand how everyone is using 1 to 1 1/2 cups of brown saccharide. The recipe only calls for 2 TABLESPOONS of brown carbohydrate. I didn't have whatsoever then I substitued Pancake Syrup as another reviewer did and information technology was crawly! We had 3 helpings!

Not sure what the problem is...I followed directions completely and it's been 2 hours and it's still in the oven. I pulled information technology out at one 60 minutes and information technology was still raw in the heart and then put it dorsum in. Very disappointed right now

I am brand new to cooking so anything with "easy" in the championship gets my attention. Even though I have a reputation for ruining dinner, this came out awesome! Since my married man ordinarily does all of the cooking and he tends to be pretty fix in his ways, I wasn't besides confident in making meatloaf not done the way he is used to. Merely boy am I glad I did! I followed the suggestions of the others and added Worchestershire sauce and sauteed the onions before I added them. It was so moist and and the sauce was succulent! But the best matter of all -- my husband loved it! I've never had meatloaf prepared this way merely now can't imagine preparing information technology differently!

Very Tasty!! For a spicier approach add 2 cloves of minced garlic in the meat mixture, and well-nigh ii tablespoons of Worchestchire Sauce to the Ketchup mixture. Bbest Meat Loaf EVER!!

Nosotros love this recipe! I use onion pulverisation instead of onions and use the Italian style breadcrumbs for more flavor. I usually have to cook information technology more similar 1hr 15minutes to totally cook information technology through.

I have made this once more and again since finding this recipe. Wonderful! I exercise par boil my onions before I add them to the meat mixture. Like others said needs more sauce, I simply eyeball a little actress.

i liked this recipe alot. I followed the communication of another review maxim to saute the onions and garlic, i added bell pepper also. and lots of garlic because i love garlic. I added the worchestire sauce as recomended forth with a generous sprinkling of Italian seasoning. Turned out great. I did determine to cook a trivial longer and cover with foil some of the melt time to prevent burning.

Excellent! I, too, followed many of the reviewers advice and added Worcestershire sauce, sauteed the onion and some garlic in butter, and also added a chopped red pepper, which I also sauteed. Instead of putting the sauce on top, I added the mustard, a modest can of tomato plant paste and a small can of tomato juice, and also used Italian-style breadcrumbs. I sprinkled a scrap of leftover provolone cheese on summit for the concluding x minutes, which melted and was nice and bubbly on acme. It tasted Succulent!

1. Way too sweet (why the brown carbohydrate???) 2. Could not concur its form(1 more egg would assistance). The improver of milk was a poor choice. No garlic?

This was delicious and piece of cake to make! The topping was actually yummy and gave it a nice season. I made ii changes...I used quick oats instead of bread crumbs and I added light-green pepper along with the onion. Very pleased with this recipe...very moist meatloaf.....thank you!!

Even utilizing the 2 tablespoons of brown saccharide made the coat for this meatloaf unappetizing. The saccharide cooked throughout the meat making the overall taste as well sweetness.

I fabricated this this night on a whim, it was very proficient, used less milk than chosen for, guesstimated the amount of staff of life crumbs, and added worcestershire sauce to meatloaf mix - very practiced, non too dry, merely right!!! Sauce was great!!! A keeper!

This is literally the perfect basic meatloaf. The glaze is succulent. Yous can jazz this up with a TBSP of Worcestshire sauce, but I have fabricated it without and it tastes simply fine. I also often buy meatloaf mix (beefiness/veal/pork) rather than merely ground beef and that tastes fine too. This is great for dinner and smashing on sandwiches the next day.

This meatloaf was fantastic! I did take the advice of some other reviewers and sauteed the onions in butter and garlic and I added a petty worcestershire sauce. Information technology was and then moist. Unfortunately, we will non have any leftovers because everyone ate it up!

Sorry, but this had no season at all. It was mushy, bland, and the sauce was fashion also sweet. (I even added garlic and extra spices) I volition not be making this over again.

I was very disappointed with how this meatloaf turned out, especially given such high reader ratings. I always make Betty Crocker's meatloaf, and fifty-fifty though information technology is a bully loaf, I decided to attempt a different one. Unfortunately, this dish turned out mushy and very much defective in flavor. The simply thing I liked most it was the ketchup and dark-brown sugar sauce, merely fifty-fifty that I contradistinct subsequently reading reviews. I volition not use this meatloaf recipe again, only if I were to change anything virtually it i would add a scattering of sharp cheddar cheese to it and I would recommend using Italian seasoned bread crumbs to help develop flavor. Too, it took at least 15 minutes longer to bake than the recipe claimed, and then brand certain to allot for the extra baking time!
